Protective Injunctions

• Repeat violence
• Two incidents of violence
• At least one incident within 6 months of the filing of petition
• Violence directed by respondent against petitioner or petitioner’s immediate family member
• Sexual violence
• Requires one incident of sexual battery, lewd or lascivious act committed in presence of person 15 years of age or younger, luring or enticing a child, sexual performance by a child, or any other forcible felony where a sexual act is committed or attempted
• Dating violence
• Dating relationship within the last 6 months
• Relationship is romantic or intimate in nature
• During the course of the relationship, the persons must have been involved over time and on a continuous basis
